In Tyler, coffee shops cluster around downtown offices, college campuses and the main commercial streets of residential neighborhoods, and the independents usually close by mid-afternoon while chains stay open into the evening. Across Texas, drive-thru coffee stands and kiosks fill the gap in suburbs and along highways, and roasters often sell bags and brewing gear at the counter. Check the listing for hours, whether the cafe takes mobile orders, and its Google rating and recent reviews; parking is easiest at suburban locations, while downtown shops rely on street meters or nearby garages. Loyalty programs are common and worth joining if you are a regular.

Tyler is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Tyler is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I don’t get coffee often, because honestly I don’t love the bitterness and overly sweet that often comes with how I like it made. First cup of coffee I had here, Claudia talked with me and my likes and dislikes and made me possibly one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. Not bitter, toned down the sweetness for me but still had lots of flavor…and I got my drink from her in no time! I also love their quality of syrups and that I can get any flavor and it is gluten free. As someone with Celiac, I often have to question or read labels on coffee shops products, but knowing these are organic and safe gluten free was just a super added bonus! Couldn’t recommend enough!

If you’re looking for a solid reason to swerve off the main road and park it at a tiny black and white trailer in East Texas, The Gathering Cup just handed it to you in a 24 oz Ice Vanilla Oatmilk matcha with Strawberry cheesecake cold foam added, Graham Crackers, and Freeze dried Strawberries!!. I took one sip and immediately forgave every questionable decision I made last week. It was just sweet enough, without being too sweet. I ordered it exactly how god intended it. With the added STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE cold foam, I didn’t feel like I was drinking grass (typical matcha comparison). All I could think about was the Bruno Mars song. 🎶’Cause you’re amazing just the way you are🎶 And as if that wasn’t enough, they source their beans from Calidad Coffee Company, which just so happens to be owned by Nick Calidad. So yes, you’re basically supporting local business royalty and drinking coffee blessed by a man whose last name literally translates to quality in English. Coincidence? I think not. They also do buy one get one half off on Saturdays, which makes it the perfect excuse to say, I got you something, while keeping the better drink for yourself. No judgment. I’ve done it. Twice.

Drive through was nice and easy to come through just have to follow the signs for where to turn in. Barista was very sweet and helped walk me through flavor combinations for a matcha drink. Great flavor, Cute presentation, and my dogs even got a pup cup! Happy all around!
